TALES OF TERROR: HAUNTED APARTMENT

Director: Akio Yoshida

Plot Summary :
Aimi and her father move into an old, apartment building and learn quickly that things are not normal here. The landlord warns Aimi and her father of the curfew. First, all residents must cross the rope in front of the property by midnight. Second, no one can move out until a new tenant arrives. Those brave enough to break the rules are unmercifully killed by a mysterious force. Aimi begins to see visions of a girl that doesn't exist. She learns that a girl named Ai lived here 30 years ago before she vanished one day on her way home from school. Aimi is driven to find out more about her. She learns that Ai wasn't abducted, but in fact came back to the building the day she disappeared. Can Aimi learn the horrible truth of what happened to Ai? And what is the dark, disturbing secret that the two girls share?

I kinda liked this one. I didn't really expect to, but my friend and I (who I should con into joining the forum) watched and really enjoyed it. The ending is kind of...um...well, okay, everything up till the end part was moderately entertaining.

yea i didnt like it. heh.

The movie just seemed tossed together and the end was a real disappointment. SPOILER In the end the girl ends up letting her father die because of his past sexual abuse toward her. However during the entire movie you are lead to believe that the girl and her father have this great healthy relationship. It just seemed like they couldent figure a way to end the movie so they just tossed that crap in there.

Oh man, that ending kinda killed everything. They didn't...well...hm. Spoilery stuff here. It's like they kinda pulled the abuse out of their asses at the last minute. If there had been hints or what have you throughout the movie, it would've been a lot less wtf. Other than that, I was amused. It was a good premise, slightly weaker follow-through.
