The Eye / Gin gwai (2002)

Plot Summary : A blind girl gets a cornea transplant so that she would be able to see again. However, she got more than what she bargained for when she realised she could even see ghosts. And some of these ghosts are down right unfriendly. So she embarks on a journey to find the origins of her cornea and to reveal the history of the previous dead owner.

Maybe a bit excessive, but it was a very enjoyable movie.

I'm very glad that I watched this movie! My only gripe would be that the ending was a bit over the top, but really that's ok.

***SPOILERS FROM HERE ON IN THIS POST***

The ghosts in the first three quarters of the film were all done very well I thought. The movie seemed to slow down quite a bit towards the end when we start to get the exposition of Ling's storyline, but it was necessary to explain the plot. The twist with the mirror reflection was great, by the way. I didn't see that coming at all for some reason.

The acting was quite good, as was the story. The film was shot very well, again with the weakest bit being the tragedy scene at the end in my opinion. I did like the way Mun's character came full circle by the end of the film however.

Ultimately, I would highly recommend this film to any horror fan.
